aspects of ritual and community

This was a collaborative residency and intermedia installation with Lily Markiewicz which included photography, sound, sculpture, dough making, roller-skating, sweeping and storytelling.

In this two-week residency and durational performance ritual and community were explored in conversation and through the repetitive gestures of sifting flour, kneading dough, and sweeping . Ritual and community are both vital elements in the formation of self and individuality. Whose interest are guarded, whose power is protected in the socially constructed process of inclusion and exclusion?
